Hello, my name is Rachel.
I inherited my grandmother's slide collection in the early 2000s. I began mining them for gems and periodically pulling out the old projectors to share with family and friends. In 2019, I started my own photo management business working with clients to bring their personal photo collections to life.

I trained my technical eye for photography by processing black-and-white film in the darkroom and, later, color-correcting digital images in a commercial photo lab. My evolving artistic eye launched me from lab work to advertising in New York City, and then to Washington, D.C., as an agent for an exclusive roster of National Geographic photographers.

I found this photo at The Brooklyn Flea in 2008 and kept it for over a decade, tucked away but waiting for its true purpose to reveal itself. Today, this 'headstander' serves as the PhotoPop Shop mascot, and as a daily reminder to shift our perspective every now and then, to look for the hidden gems in every collection, and—above all—to never let go of a dream.
